Full day ESCI workshop in cooperation the department for Dental Medicin at University of Zurich ZZM
3 live surgery`s, 3 theoretical and hands-on workshops
Due to current supply bottlenecks for ceramic implants and the resulting limited availability of important components (go to ESCI Statement) , the pre-congress workshop of the 3rd European Congress for Ceramic Implant Dentistry at the University of Zurich has been postponed to 2026.
With the market situation expected to ease by the end of 2025, we will be able to offer you a practice-oriented program of the usual high quality next year.
Thank you for your understanding.

WORKSHOP W3 13:30-15:30

supported by Camlog
Dr. Frank Maier M.Sc.
Ceralog Progressive Line and augmentive procedures
Today two-piece ceramic implants offer a similar procedure to what
we are used to with titanium implants. The implants can be inserted at an angle compared toone-piece implants, augmentative procedures can be carried out with the implantation and superstructures can be screwed onto two-piece implants. The two-piece systems are therefore desired and the subject of research.
This workshop provides information about new developments and the use of zirconia implants.
Facts, not ideologies, are discussed. The possibilities and limitations of two-part zirconia systems
and various augmentation techniques are shown. The surgical and prosthetic procedures are
demonstrated using clinical cases.
The workshop will include a hands-on training session.
WORKSHOP W4 13:30-15:30

supported by Z-Systems
Dr. Mariane Sordi M.Sc. and ZTM Peter Hebsaker
Precision in practice: zirconia implant placement with Z-Systems (with Hands-on)
Z-Systems is offering an exclusive 2-hour workshop tailored for dental professionals who want to master the art of zirconia implant placement while understanding its benefits. In this hands-on session, dentists will gain practical experience with Z-Systems’ advanced zirconia dental implants, focusing on precision and technique. The workshop will cover the entire process—from proper implant placement to prosthetics considerations and helpful tips for working with a 100% zirconia two-piece implant system featuring unique screw-retained abutments. Elevate your skills and confidence in zirconia implants to enhance your practice and patient care.

WORKSHOP W5 13:30-15:30

supported by myplant
Dr. Wolfgang Sausmikat
Introduction to the ceramic composite implant system –Overcoming the limitations of all-ceramic implants
In this workshop, you will learn about a ceramic composite system that creates a bacteria-tight connection – completely gap-free – between the abutment and the implant system without the need for adhesives.
You will learn that the advantages of all-ceramic implants, including abrasion resistance, the absence of chronic corrosion, the absence of chronic macrophage infiltration, the absence of transport of wear debris into the body, and the absence of chronic low-level infection (keyword: interleukin cascade), are fully maintained, without having to consider the additional requirements of all-ceramic implants: (Fracture risk, implant proliferation, diameter enlargement, increased costs, Augmentation requirements, sub- and perigingival bonding with polymer substances, screw connection leaving gaps)
- A brief historical technological overview of this implant technology is described.
- The construction principle of a ceramic hybrid implant is presented.
- The application principle is presented using case studies.
WORKSHOP W6 16:00 -18:00

supported by Purgo
Prof. Ralf Smeets
Update on augmentation techniques 4.0: Use of KEM and PRF in implantology
What do we use when for sinus floor elevation, lateral and horizontal augmentations, socket preservation, and GTR/GBR? Tips and tricks!
The workshop will include a hands-on part

WORKSHOP W7 16:00 -18:00

supported by Neodent/Straumann
Dr. Kesav Babu, IND
Biocompatibility and prosthetic possibilities: Neodent Zirconia at bone level
The workshop explores the use of bone level zirconia implants provided by Neodent, highlighting their clinical performance, biological integration, aesthetic outcomes, and mechanical stability. We review recent clinical cases and literature supporting the application of zirconia implants in anterior and posterior regions, with a focus on conventional placements, immediate placements & immediate loading protocols.
Additionally, we discuss indications, surgical considerations and prosthetic flexibility provided by two-piece bone level zirconia implants. This hands-on workshop aims to provide clinicians with practical insights into the integration of zirconia-based systems in contemporary implantology.
This workshop includes a hands-on exercise
